Trip Rosters

We need a way to view and print a trip roster as a simple list that is viewable in one screen. This needs to separate Scouts and Adults as two separate lists. Trip leaders and also youth leaders (SPL, and PLs) often need a printout of the roster that they will use to take roll at meetings. The Youth leaders use the printed version during the trip itself.
The roster should also show the phone number and contact email for all participants and birthdays for the youth.
This helps adults call/text during a trip, and helps youth and adults send out emails to only trip participants. Would be great if there were an option to select all participants, copy all emails at once, and then the user could paste those addresses into their email.
The youth leaders need to see birthdays to help organize tent assignments (Scouts can only tent together if they are within 2 years of age of each other).
For phones, it would be great if a user could log in from their phone, and then grab some or all of the phone numbers to copy and paste into a group text - to notify families of our ETA as we return, or in case of a change in plans/emergency.
The printout also needs to show a number of how many people are in each patrol (so the reader doesn't have to count manually) as well as the number of people on the trip total.
Going above and beyond - it would be great to have the ability to sort this roster into patrols. Patrols include both youth and adults. Trips usually have as few as one patrol or as many as 5-6 patrols (e.g. Summer Camp). These are "trip patrols" meaning they may not be the same as the patrols in Troop meetings. Each patrol has an acting patrol leader.

Troop Directory
Rick Ormsby
We need a General Troop Directory that leaders and our Troop Merit Badge Counselors can access to contact specific families. Name and email are most important, phone number would be next.
This is our current email list from our listserv - if we had a way to bulk import information from a spreadsheet, that would be great.

Thanks for this! Some good news on the building blocks: every troop site already has a Roster (People) area listing your Scouts, Leaders, and Members, and each person's profile stores name, email, phone, and address, with a "Share with Troop Members" toggle so families control what's visible to others. What is NOT built yet — and is really the heart of this request — is (a) a single scannable contact list showing name + email + phone side by side (today you open one profile at a time, and email/phone only show if the family opted in), and (b) bulk importing families from a spreadsheet (our only spreadsheet import today is for a scout's financial transactions, not contacts). A dedicated Merit Badge Counselor access role also doesn't exist in the system yet, so how MBCs would get directory access is something we'd need to scope as part of this. Keeping this "planned" for now, and we'll update here as the consolidated directory view and spreadsheet import get built.

Thanks Rick — this is a great, concrete spec and it's not something S4S does today. Right now the closest tool is the per-trip CSV export (Roster & Billing → Export), which can include guardian names, emails, and phone numbers as columns, but it's a spreadsheet download, not a print-friendly one-screen roster, and it doesn't split Scouts vs Adults, show birthdays, or give you one-click copy-all-emails / copy-phones for a group text. We're marking this as under review. A few of your asks (youth birthdays and sorting into patrols) would need us to start tracking date-of-birth and patrol assignments, which we don't store yet — so we'd love your input on how essential each piece is. Would a printable, two-list (Scouts/Adults) roster with contact info + head counts + copy-emails cover most of your need even before birthdays/patrols land?

Are we wanting to just have a list of emails available on the members list page?
Are we needing these list of emails to be exportable?
If we rolled out our communication functionality that's in planning (being able to communicate between members and in groups on S4S such as trip communication, event communication, or whole troop communication) would this solve the need for export and we could just make the members table into a email/phone list? Right now leaders have the ability to openly share their phones/emails with members in their own profile pages, this is off by default thought.
